Visit our National Website! Welcome to Theta Kappa
Welcome Friends,
I would like to thank you for taking the time to peruse through our website and truly see what Sigma Chi has to offer. With 247 chapters in the United States and Canada, over 300,000 initiated Brothers, and the largest alumni base world-wide, Sigma Chi is the largest secret, social fraternity in the world. These outstanding successes are owed to the hard-work and dedication of Sigma Chis everywhere since our founding at The University of Miami in Oxford, Ohio on June 28, 1855.
The fundamental purpose of this Fraternity is to cultivate and maintain the high ideals of friendship, justice, and learning upon which Sigma Chi was founded. The Theta Kappa chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity is always striving to develop these ideals, to better ourselves throughout our lives. This leads to one of the most important lessons taught through Sigma Chi; that Sigma Chi is a life-long commitment. The lessons you will learn through Sigma Chi will be a part of you for the remainder of your life. Sigma Chi Alumni, John Wayne SOUTHERN-CALIFORNIA 1929, summed up Sigma Chi in one way, “Men join Fraternities, Leaders of Men join Sigma Chi.”
The Theta Kappa Chapter, founded on March 31, 1984, at The University of Texas at Arlington, has been extremely successful in its 27 years of operation. We have been regarded as one of the best chapters in Sigma Chi, and are a yearly recurring winner of the Peterson Significant Award, the highest award that any chapter can be bestowed by the International Fraternity. As Sigma Chis, we believe that the world requires more of us than the world requires of other men. This is shown by our actions towards each other, our school, and our community.
Here at Theta Kappa, we have one of the most successful philanthropical events in the nation, our annual Fight Night. Fight Night is an amateur boxing tournament which helps raise money for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Arlington. In 2011, we raised an astounding $20,000 for the clubs, a truly remarkable amount and achievement.
We look forward to getting to know you personally, and to help guide you and build you into becoming the man you want to be. Sigma Chi was exponentially the greatest decision of my life, and I know just how great of an affect it can have on you as a person and on those around you. If you are interested in checking out or joining our prestigious organization, do not hesitate to contact me by phone at 817-205-2774, or by email at either [email protected] or or our Recruitment Chairman, Cirilo Ocampo at 817-308-7750 or at [email protected]
Best wishes,
